Welcome to this Year 7 English blog. The focus will be our Poetry Anthology (great word, means “literary collection”) where we will collate our favourite poems with one that we have written.

I think I just left my comment on the wrong page of your Blog ! Sorry ! Just wanted to say that I log in regularly and enjoy reading your poems. It is exciting to have your work published, and to know that anyone in the world can read them. I recommended your Blog to another school recently, so you just never know who is reading your work.

The race
My heart pumping
My blood rushing.
This race of 100 meters
Nervous as ever `
Drinking forever
And hoping for good weather
Waiting behind the race line
Waiting for the gun to fire
Waiting to achieve higher
Waiting for smell of victory
Waiting for the big push.
The gun click, we rush ourselves to the finish line.
Am I first? Am I going well?
Rushing then waiting for the sign.
Cheers and shouts surrounding me
As I cross the finish line. Victory was mine.
